Dorit Kemsley Reveals Final Decision on PK Marriage

After months of speculation and a season filled with relationship uncertainty, “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Dorit Kemsley has finally made a definitive statement about her marriage to Paul “PK” Kemsley. In a preview of the upcoming RHOBH Season 14 reunion, Dorit reveals she has “chosen not to have much of a relationship with him,” marking a significant turning point for the couple who announced their separation in May 2024.

The reunion preview, released ahead of its April 1 airing on Bravo, shows host Andy Cohen directly questioning Dorit about her hesitancy to file for divorce, according to Bravo’s The Daily Dish. Her response indicates that while the couple hasn’t formally divorced, Dorit has emotionally distanced herself from the relationship just “a week ago” from the filming of the reunion.

The couple, who share two children, Jagger and Phoenix, are navigating co-parenting arrangements with PK having custody on Saturday nights “if he’s in town,” Dorit notes in the clip. This represents a significant shift from her previous statements suggesting openness to reconciliation.

Financial Concerns Surface

Beyond her relationship status, the reunion preview shows Dorit addressing rumors about the couple’s financial situation. She clarifies that their formerly-shared Encino home was in “pre-foreclosure” but claims the situation has since been resolved.

“I had no idea about it. He told me that they changed the rate, he was trying to get ahold of somebody, nobody was returning his calls — that’s the way he does business,” Dorit explains in the preview. “Until they give him his call back, he’s not going to pay. He resolved it. They ended up calling. That’s what he said.”

Financial concerns became a recurring theme throughout Season 14, with fellow cast members, particularly Erika Jayne, expressing worry about Dorit’s financial wellbeing amid the separation. According to People, the couple’s money troubles followed several challenging years, including Dorit’s traumatic 2021 home invasion.

From “Solid” Marriage to Separation

The Kemsleys’ relationship journey spans over a decade, beginning when they met in New York City in 2011 through mutual friends. After welcoming their son Jagger in 2014, they married in a Great Gatsby-inspired ceremony at Rockefeller Center’s Rainbow Room in 2015. Their daughter Phoenix was born in 2016, the same year Dorit joined RHOBH’s seventh season.

Early in her reality TV career, Dorit expressed complete confidence in their relationship, telling Bravo in 2017, “PK and I are so solid. We just are. We connect. I mean, I’m OK on my own, but then I’m with PK [and] I’m whole, and it’s the same for him.”

However, cracks in their relationship became public in October 2022 when fellow housewife Erika Girardi suggested at BravoCon that the Kemsleys would be heading to “splitsville.” Though the couple initially denied separation rumors, they officially announced their split in May 2024.

“We have had our struggles over the last few years and continue to work through them as two people who love each other and share two amazing children together,” they wrote in a joint statement on Instagram. “We have made the mutual and difficult decision to take some time apart and reevaluate our relationship while we prioritize our children.”

Contributing Factors

At the RHOBH Season 13 reunion in March 2024, just two months before announcing their separation, Dorit cited PK’s drinking and frequent traveling as points of tension. She mentioned that things were “better than ever” when PK had given up alcohol, calling it a “pivotal moment” in their relationship.

The couple also acknowledged Dorit’s ongoing struggles with PTSD following a traumatic home invasion in October 2021, when she was robbed at gunpoint in their home while their children were present and PK was in London.

In the aftermath of their separation announcement, Dorit responded to a social media comment expressing surprise at the split after the couple had appeared to be “stronger than ever.”

“We were. S— happens. It’s called life- try it sometime. One day at a time,” she replied, suggesting the breakdown of their relationship was recent and perhaps unexpected even to her.

The three-part RHOBH reunion begins airing Tuesday, April 1 on Bravo, with episodes streaming the next day on Peacock.
